FoCo Kids Bike Challenge begins Tuesday, May 7
Challenge offers 18 free kids bike races throughout the summer
Thursday, May 2, 2013 FORT COLLINS –The first ever FoCo Kids Bike Challenge, a series of 18 free weekly kids summer bike races, will begin on Tuesday, May 7 with Ciclismo Youth Foundation’s Short Track series. Similar to the Healthy Kids Run Series offered by University of Colorado Health’s Healthy Kids Club, the FoCo Kids Bike Challenge has merged all of the local summer kid’s bike races into one summer-long series. Participants can register for the entire Challenge and can race in any or all of the races and will earn prizes for consistent participation. The FoCo Kids Bike Challenge culminates with the USA Pro Cycling Challenge which is coming to Fort Collins on August 24th.
All races are for children ages 2-18 and will be divided by age and ability. Striders and trikes are accepted for the youngest age group, 4 and under. All racers are required to wear a helmet and parents must sign one waiver for each race series in the Challenge.
The race series included in the FoCo Kids Bike Challenge are listed below and are provided by Ciclismo Youth Foundation (Short Track and Lory Park Challenge), CSU Rams Cycling & Fort Collins VeloPark Association, and Northern Colorado Cycling Events, respectively. Pre-registration and day-of registration is accepted.

These grassroots races are low-key family events and are followed by adult races that are open to the community including moms and dads! A small fee applies for adult racers. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic and stick around for the all the fun.
