Citizens’ Academy of Larimer County Sheriff Office will run Sept. 16 to Dec. 9. 

The academy gives citizens’ the opportunity to see into the operations of Larimer County Sheriff Office. 

Sessions are held on Tuesday nights and limited to 35 people with registration beginning July 1.

The weekly sessions will feature information about how the units operate and are trained by deputies and captains. 

The sessions will cost $25 to cover a t-shirt and lunch for a field day on Oct. 11.  The field day will allow citizens to participate in responding to simulated situations including shooting, a traffic stop, and a crime scene.

To participate in the Citizens' Academy you must be 18 years old, resident of Larimer County, be able to attend all classes, have no convictions, no misdemeanors within a year and will succumb to a background check.
